Special Edition Workshops – HR Leaders Summit 2025 (1. Burnout)

In July 2025, Talent Crunch partnered with WeAreDevelopers to host their official workshop series at the HR Leaders Summit in Berlin. This Playbook is the first in a short series.

“From Grind to Balance”

Facilitators:

Dagmar Glow – Professional Business Coach, Coaching with Dagmar | LinkedIn

Veronica Ambrosini – Founder, bix a beel | LinkedIn

Intro:

Burnout is not just about individual exhaustion, it often has systemic causes that undermine team performance and long-term results. In this session, Dagmar Glow and Veronica Ambrosini brought together open discussion, practical tools, and live exercises to help participants identify burnout early, set healthy boundaries, and maintain performance without sacrificing wellbeing.

We are blessed to have such partners in our community. Dagmar and Veronica gave their time for free to support our community partnership with the We Are Developers and HR Leaders Summit Conference and we could not be more grateful for their knowledge sharing.

Now you can enjoy a quick recap — also, for FREE.

The below is written by our expert facilitators and we strongly encourage you to reach out to them directly for additional details, for support in your own journeys.

Workshop 1 – “From Grind to Balance”

The take aways:

  • Spot the 5 key signs of burnout (before it’s too late)
  • Learn who’s most at risk and why some teams burn out faster than others
  • Set healthy boundaries at work (without feeling guilty)
  • Master 3 proven techniques to manage expectations and push back like a pro.

Ever felt like your brain is buffering while your calendar is screaming “MORE”?!

Yeah, us too. That’s why we gathered over 50 professionals in a classroom-turned-lab for our Burnout Prevention & Boundary Setting workshop and trust us, the energy was anything but dry.

First, we diagnosed the beast: Burnout.

Led by Dagmar (business coach & burnout slayer), we got real about:

  • The 5 burnout warning signs
  • Who’s most at risk (spoiler: the “I’ll just finish one more thing” crew)
  • Why some teams burn out faster than others (hello, overwork + zero boundaries 👀).

Participants shared real talk in small groups, identifying behaviors in themselves and in their companies that silently fuel burnout. We used dot voting to see how common these burnout traps really are… and let’s just say, the dots were everywhere.

Key moment: “Burnout isn’t just me; it’s systemic too.”

Next up: We moved from awareness to action.

Despite the classroom desks, we made space to breathe (literally) with Veronica (team development expert & boundary-setting ninja), guiding us through:

  • An embodiment activity on how to say “no” (yes, it is harder than it sounds!)
  • Practicing boundary setting in pairs (no, you don’t have to say yes to everything, and yes, it feels weird at first)
  • Real-time reflection on how hard (and freeing) it can be to say: “This is my limit.”

“I didn’t realize how often I let my boundaries slide because of how I think the other person will react to them. Practicing it in a safe space was a game-changer.”

🚦 Key Take-Aways You’ll Want to Screenshot:

  • Spot burnout early (don’t wait until your brain or body gives up)
  • Burnout behaviors are more common than we think and seeing them clearly helps us change the negative patterns
  • Boundary setting takes PRACTICE (and courage)
  • Even a “rigid” classroom can become an immersive, empowering space
  • You can be productive without running on empty

We wrapped up with thought-provoking questions and discussions that made us all pause (and gave us goosebumps). We ended with a round of applause and powerful feedback that told us: burnout is real and these conversations are needed now more than ever.

If you missed it:

Set that boundary. Take that pause. Your well-being isn’t optional; it’s your superpower.
